Pride Toronto's "Queers & Beers"
South Stage @ Church & Wood Streets
Toronto, Ontario
Saturday, June 26, 2004

*V*I*R*G*O* made his first trip across the US/Canadian border to meet his fans in the fine city of Toronto. As part of Pride Toronto's "Queers & Beers" rock concert event, *V* shared the bill with Scandalnavia, Lesbians on Ecstasy, and fellow NYC natives Lisa Jackson and Girl Friday. With the help of his bandmates, Gordon Smith, Toshio Mana, and Anthony Maulella, *V* gave the Torontonians a heavy dose of electro-industrial-funk-rock music, NYC-style. We're here to tell you - those Canucks sure know how to party!
At the end of *V*'s set, which featured songs from his 'Moderate Extremism' LP and his upcoming follow-up album, 'Clarity', the lovely (and top-notch) stage manager, Melinda, came up to ask for more, so *V* and the boys whipped out a special surprise and performed cover versions of the classic 80's club hits "You Spin Me Round" by Dead or Alive and "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Major props to stage manager Melinda and to the impeccable sound engineers at the show, and MANY thanks to the organizers, Pride Toronto, and to their awesome crowd of proud queer music fans for giving *V* and the boys such a warm and enthusiastic welcome to Canada - we'll see you again soon!
